Healthcare professions are currently experiencing increased professional member diversity, necessitating an investigation of employee workplace learning experiences and career advancement. The researchers identified three themes as a result of preliminary data analysis.
First, variability exists in the frequency that BIPOC women experience microinvalidations in their workplaces.
Second, women of color perceive that environmental microaggressions are due to multiple factors; however, the microaggressions are not perceived as explicit barriers to career advancement.
Third, women of color are likely to work with mentors and the #mentors provide a variety of career advancement supports.
